The author of the painting, Petro Ivanovych Antyp (born April 4, 1959, in Horlivka), is a prominent contemporary Ukrainian sculptor, painter, graphic artist, architect, and public figure. He is an Honored Artist of Ukraine and one of the most influential artists of our time. He studied sculpture at the Penza Art College (1980–1984) and later in the workshops of V. Tsoi and O. Bem. Since 1989, he has been a member of the Union of Artists, and his work is often called "the intuition of the historical steppe." His works combine archaic images (Scythian women, burial mounds) with modern forms.
